ST Net provided private, customized Microsoft .NET training to 5 experienced programmers in the Applications Development Branch at USDA, GIPSA. Training was conducted over a four-month period. The training consisted of 5 Microsoft certification courses, including Programming with Visual Basic.NET, Developing MS ASP.NET Web Applications using Visual Studio.NET, Programming with ADO.NET, and Developing XML Web Services using ASP.NET. Each course was 16 days in length. Two groups of programmers received this training. In addition, one staff programmer attended two public SQL database courses, SQL Server 2000 Database Development and Database Administrator. ST Net also provided NT 4.0 Workstation and Server Administration, Citrix Metaframe training and Visual Basic programming training and programming service to this client in the past. ST Net used our proven end-to-end integrated approach solution to respond to this training requirement permitting us to meet the diverse GIPSA end user community needs while satisfying GIPSA contract performance, within schedule, and the lowest costs. The tailored GIPSA training approach, shown in the figure below, focused on tailoring the standard technical training to the GIPSA environment through our proven "custom teach" concept. This tailored training approach integrated the Microsoft .NET technology, the GIPSA users' physical environment and current GIPSA development work processes. By using practical exercises honed to the GIPSA user work environment, training presentation was greatly enhanced, easily applied and more interesting to the GIPSA training population. Our life-cycle approach, shown in the figure below begins and ends with the GIPSA user, with our established training development and execution providing the tools to complete the course. Initially, we identified the training goals and requirements to address the "customer total training population." In the execution of this logical, life-cycle approach, ST Net also provided the necessary technical, management, and quality assurance processes coupled with the necessary support infrastructure to efficiently address the GIPSA training tasks and perform the necessary management oversight, and control as well as the unique reporting required by the GIPSA contract. ST Net training was well received by GIPSA training participants and ST Net received excellent ratings from the training attendees who participated in the GIPSA Microsoft .NET training instruction.
