ST Net provided customized MS Word training for 789 Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) employees located in 5 cities nationwide. The training was conducted over 4 months, and the training was tailored to the unique requirements of MSHA. Pre-course and post-course assessments were conducted to gauge the effectiveness of the training. The course consisted of customized Introduction, Intermediate, and Advanced levels to assist the agency in supporting the migration of users from WordPerfect to Word. All training was performed at MSHA provided classrooms located in Pittsburgh, PA, West Virginia, Golden, Colorado and at the Headquarters, located in District of Columbia. ST Net used our proven end-to-end integrated approach solution to respond to this training requirement permitting us to meet the diverse MSHA end user community needs while satisfying MSHA contract performance, within schedule, and the lowest costs. The tailored MSHA Microsoft Word training approach, shown in the figure below, focused on tailoring the standard technical training to the MSHA environment through our proven "custom teach" concept. This tailored training approach integrated the Microsoft Word capabilities, the MSHA users' physical environment and current MSHA Microsoft Word work processes. By using practical exercises honed to the MSHA user work environment, training presentation was greatly enhanced, easily applied and more interesting to the MSHA training population. Our lifecycle approach, shown in the figure below begins and ends with the MSHA user, with our established training development and execution providing the tools to complete the course. Initially, we identified the training goals and requirements to address the "customer total training population." In the execution of this logical, life-cycle approach, ST Net also provided the necessary technical, management, and quality assurance processes coupled with the necessary support infrastructure to efficiently address the MSHA Microsoft Word training tasks and perform the necessary management oversight, and control as well as the unique reporting required by the MSHA contract. ST Net training was well received by training MSHA participants and ST Net received excellent ratings from the training attendees who participated in the MSHA Microsoft Word instruction.
